Insights

The Noggerath^® Vortex Circular Grit Chamber GCC-V not only reliably removes grit and mineral solids and thus protects the downstream processes. Because of its efficiency, it also contributes enormously to process optimization in the subsequent biological stage.

Operation: A tangential inlet area generates a spiral flow in the basin. A paddle mechanism ensures uniformly high grit separation even with fluctuating feed volumes.
After a full circulation, the wastewater enters the outlet channel above the inlet flume, where lighter organic fractions are returned to the wastewater stream. Heavy mineral matter settles in the central grit collection shaft and is conveyed from there by pump or air-lift for further treatment. To prevent odor nuisance, the complete system can be encapsulated.
